☕ Welcome to the Studio
Welcome back to The Timeless Ledger.
September always feels a little like standing with one foot in summer and the other in autumn. The days are still warm enough to pretend summer isn’t quite finished, but the evenings are cooler, the light is changing, and suddenly I’m noticing every leaf that looks even slightly suspicious. 😄
Around the studio, things have been busy in the best possible way. There are new collections taking shape, membership projects growing in directions I didn’t necessarily plan, and more than a few ideas scribbled on scraps of paper because apparently using the notebook sitting directly beside me would be far too sensible.
This month’s Ledger is about gathering — ideas, old papers, stories, inspiration, and the little things that remind us why we make in the first place.
✂️ On My Worktable

This month, one of the biggest things on my worktable has been The Riverside Dye House.
What started as an idea for a collection grew into a full 40-page Timeless Vault release inspired by an old working dye house and the archive it left behind — dyes, textiles, records, samples, recipes, notes, labels, threads and stories.
The Dye House is probably the best example yet of why I’m excited about that space.
Sometimes an idea needs twelve pages.
Sometimes it apparently needs forty. 😂
And I’m learning to let the collection decide.

🎁 This Month’s Companion Pack

Every month, I tuck a little something extra into The Timeless Ledger as a thank you for stopping by — and September gave me a couple of lovely excuses to create some pages that are a little different.
World Gratitude Day falls on September 21, and rather than filling a page with quotes about being thankful, I wanted to look at gratitude the way I often look at everything else — through the little pieces of paper people leave behind.
A handwritten thank-you. A neighbour who dropped something at the door. A bill quietly paid by someone else. Flowers saved from a garden. A recipe shared between friends.
Little acts of kindness that might not seem terribly important at the time, but somehow become the things we remember.
The gratitude pages in this month’s pack are built around those ordinary moments — the small ways people have always taken care of one another and the little traces those kindnesses leave behind.
September also brings Grandparents Day, which felt right at home in The Timeless Ledger.
So many of the things we treasure as paper crafters are exactly the kinds of things that get passed down through families — recipes written in familiar handwriting, photographs with names scribbled on the back, letters tucked into drawers, cards that someone couldn’t quite bring themselves to throw away, and stories attached to ordinary objects.
So, naturally, I had to make a page for that too. ❤️
Along with the special September pages, you’ll also find this month’s collection of Timeless Backgrounds — 15 new stash-building papers filled with aged surfaces, handwriting, music, book pages, ledgers and other wonderfully useful bits of old paper ready to print, layer, tear, ink and generally make a mess with. 😄
Altogether, there are 18 printable pages waiting for you this month.
I hope you find something in this month’s pages that sparks an idea — or maybe even brings back a story of your own.

🎪 Come See Me at Chilifest!
Saturday, September 19
This month Timeless Scraps is heading out of the studio and into the real world!
I’ll be at Chilifest at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion in Sault Ste. Marie with handmade journals, greeting cards, handmade and vintage ephemera, curated DIY journal kits, Christmas card kits and more.
If you’re local, come find me and say hello — I’d love to see you!
☕ You Never Know…
And, as always, scheduled lives have never completely stopped me from randomly deciding I need some crafty company. 😂
If inspiration strikes, you may see the occasional pop-up live too — so keep an eye on Facebook!
❤️ Made by You
One of the things I love most about this creative community is that the connections we make have a funny way of travelling far beyond the piece of paper that started them.
This month’s Made by You feature is fellow Canadian crafter Sheila Block, whom I met through Junker’s Craft Co-op.
Sheila and I recently did a swap, and when her package arrived, I had one of those wonderful “Okay, I need to look at EVERYTHING before I touch anything” moments. 😂

Her work is full of the things I love about paper crafting — layers upon layers, stitching, distressed edges, unexpected little pieces of ephemera tucked together, florals, old labels and tickets, and details that make you want to keep looking because there’s always something else hiding underneath.
But what I particularly love is that Sheila hasn’t simply printed something and decorated around it. She’s mixed everything together with papers and pieces from her own stash and made it completely hers.
Want to be here next month?
Made by You is about celebrating the people who make things.
You don’t need to use Timeless Scraps designs to be featured. I want to see your work, your style, and the things you love creating — junk journals, collage, mixed media, altered books, paper crafts, textiles, assemblage, or whatever creative rabbit hole you’ve wandered into.
If you’d like to be considered for a future issue of The Timeless Ledger, send me a few photos of something you’ve made, along with a little bit about yourself and your creative work.
You don’t need a business, a shop, or a huge following. You just need to make stuff. ❤️
Each month, I’ll choose one artist to introduce to the Timeless Scraps community.
Maybe next month, this space will be yours.
👀 Looking Ahead
There is a lot happening behind the scenes at Timeless Scraps right now — some of it you’ll see very soon, and some of it is still firmly in the “Kim has an idea and needs to figure out exactly what she’s doing with it” stage. 😂
The new classes I mentioned last month are still very much in the works, and I’m excited about creating more opportunities for us to actually sit down and make things together — not just hand you the printable and send you on your way.
I’m also spending more time thinking about the different ways I can add to collections you already love, revisit older ideas, and occasionally create something simply because inspiration struck and I couldn’t leave it alone.
Not everything needs to become a whole new kit, and I’m having a lot of fun giving some of those smaller ideas somewhere to live.
There are new collections coming, plenty happening inside the memberships, and more than a few ideas scribbled in notebooks around here.
As for exactly what’s coming in October?
Nice try. 😂
You’ll have to come back next month for that.
Until Next Month…
Thank you for pulling up a chair for Issue No. 2.
